Ayesha says it's been a long February. She's been waiting for March to come and March just isn't coming. Hence, it's been the longest February in the history of Februaries and someone ought to notify the authorities and the folks who record this sort of thing (as well as possibly the United States 'coz I'm sure they're just dying to bomb the hell out of February to make it shorter than it already is because it is somehow related to nuclear proliferation in the Axis of Evil!)
Incidentally, this has been the longest winter of my discontent. Infact the only winter of my discontent since I normally happen to love winter. Worst part is that it's gone on forever. Yes, it started a bit late. Started off sometime end of November. Closer to December than it has ever been before. But does that mean that it lasts forever? Isn't it supposed to be over by now? Specially considering that basant--I mean the real one and not the one declared by the authorities--should have been last weekend, one woudl think that the cold will now disappear and we'd be greeted by bright sunlight and fresh colors all around. To be greeted instead with a dark, dank hazy morning everyday is not my idea of Spring. Every day brings with it a promise of Spring but somehow that's only what we have--promises.
Today was perhaps the first time I felt warm in my jacket. Today was the first time since July that Xeb felt warm. That's really a huge achievment considering that she's normally freezing inside her 17 layers of clothes. That freezing ofcourse is dependant upon the occassion. If she's lumpily, dumpily dressed, then she'll be shivering no matter what she wears. Au contraire, if she's in slinky, sleeveless clothes with a plunging neck and back, she'll be looking too good to care about how cold it is. Take for example Basant night with the green sleeveless, or the SKMH fundraiser with the black sleeveless top. So what if she shivered like crazy after both events were over. So what if she fell horribly ill after basant. She looked good, hence, was not cold.
Me, I don't care how cold it is. I love being cold. It's summers I don't like. I'm much happier popsicled in my flip-flopped feet then wearing big, clumsy boots to keep them warm. That's just me.
Which reminds me. Xeb bought me Foot Thongs. Pics coming up as soon as she has them uploaded. I love them. Thank you, Baby, for the most amazing B'day gift EVER!
Going back to the original topic of discussion, I want BLOODYWINTERQUARTER to be over already. Two more days left. I'm homing on Tuesday. Spring Quarter just seems to lend its name to the weather so very perfectly! =)
