Bless The Lord! The heat-wave's dissipated and today's a relatively pleasant day. The super-blazing sun is missing for once and there's a nice breeze running through. Hope it stays like this or gets better. I can actually walk around in the sun without fear of having my arm-hair singed or burnt right off. Yeah I have arm-hair. Loads of it. I'm a man. What do you expect?! I'm also a rather delusional, man high on lack of sleep. Had a fitful night's sleep for some reason. Might have had something to do with the electricity running off every few minutes at ali's place. To top it all off, the air conditioner tripped twice. Ali was so wasted he didn't even know this happened. I had to get up every 30 minutes to try and get the air conditioning to work. I think half of my body-fat melted off during the 3 hours before LESCO/WAPDA decided to let me rest in peace.
Wolly and Theseus showed up around 2.30 and woke me up. Ali's been up before that coz he had some meeting to attend today and was showering and stuff. Theseus walked in and commented on the sort of love two boxers-clad men share on a night of smothering heat. Yeah well I can't help it if Ali craves me so bad. I like his ass too, you know!
With the basketball season over (with regrets to Elf) I spend way less time browsing through the random sports news sites I've frequented during the season. Baseball seasons about to get interesting but you won't really see me post about it. I've been into tennis and following Wimbledon but there's not much to write about. My women's favorite decided to make a first-round exit after attempting the nearly-impossible switch from French Open success to All England glory. Roger's practically impossibel to beat and I foresee another Federer-Safin classic. I'm rooting for Safin because the man's just raised his game so much in the last year or so. It's almost like he was waiting for Federer to get into full flow before he showed people he could play with the best of 'em! I hope Nadal stays with the grass game despite his loss here because he has the makings of a Slam winner more than Federer. Roger will always have life hell for him on clay despite his flawless game. Nadal on the other hand has only to get used to the pace of grass before he becomes a threat on just about any surface on the planet.
In other sports news, Argentina vs Mexico tonight. Brazil awaits the winner in the Confed final. If (WHEN) Argentina get through with this semi, the final will be worth watching. I say Argentina takes it all!
Interesting rule changes in cricket. The next 10 months will be intriguing to watch just to see how the changes play out and how captains use the 2 sets of 5 over restrictions. I say normally, 20-25th overs and 30-35th overs--specially if you pick up wickets during the 10-20 stage. The substitutions will play in favor of teams like Pakistan and India. Pakistan can use the extra batsman and India will throw in the keeper as sub. Imagine though, Australia with Brett Lee as a sub--or even Symonds. 5 specialist bowlers. 5 Batsmen. A 'Keeper. And Symonds in reserve to do just about everything under the sun. Afridi, Shoaib Malik or someone like Azhar Mehmood would do the same for Pakistan. Exciting stuff.
That's my update for now. More to come after yet another round of Age of Empires II.
LaterzZz.
