It's been a while since I wrote out anything in this particular little box that is the Blogger composing window.
During the last 19-odd days, Shabeeb Bhai's gotten better, Raamis has learnt to wave good-bye (courtesy of much hard work by yours truly) Ali was in town for 5 days and two people I've known for a while got married. One wedding I attended--sort of. The other I wasn't welcome at. Took Xeb a long time to realize that but like I told her y'day, I don't forgive very easily. My vengeance will be sweet!
Did some interesting things. Did some new things too. Partied. Went out. Shopped. Beach scene was fun. One trip to the ocean in my entire 6 week stay in Karachi! Speaking of which, this stay is over in another 4 days now. 96 hours exactly as I type out these words. Can't wait to get back to Lahore and the boys!
Learnt a whole lot this summer though. I learnt that I have few friends in this world and those that I do have, I work very hard to push out. With only a few exceptions, I wouldn't really bother with most people if it weren't for maintaining a particular social image. I've lost friends, gained others. It's been 'educational'. Taught me about who I am and what I want. For once, I know what it is.
Regret for losing some friends and having some beliefs confirmed and reaffirmed aside, I've had a great summer. I will miss my friends. I will miss my best friend. I will miss my girlfriend. I will miss my parents. I will miss the rest of the family. I will miss my sister and her family. I will miss being home when I'm finally home.
Next time I write here, I won't be home. I will be home.
Four days to Lahore. Let's go home, boys!
