The easiest way to tell people who know the city of Karachi how to get to my house is to tell them to find their way to Khalid Bin Waleed Road. They'll know they're there when they hit the road with all the car showrooms on it. Now the best part about living here is that I get to see all of the best rides in the city all around me. The newest models of all cars are parked practically outside my gate. Yet, since the day I got back for summer, I've only had eyes for a car made 37 years ago!

It's parked next door to my place which happens to be a motor workshop. The owner of this workshop owns some sweet cars of his own and brings in other beauties to fix up ocassionally. Parked right now in that garage are 2 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500 SEL's. One black, one white. Also there since forever is a Chocolate-brown 1984 Chevy which is longer than the two very long Benz. A recent aquisition is a 1986 Jaguar Sovereign 4.2 in the deep blue color that I love in Jags.

But the one car that I've been drooling over--the one I would do anything to acquire now--is a blue 1968 Ford Mercury Cougar XR7 convertible with off-white top. It's got customized double head-lights and a mint-condition interior. Oh, it's automatic transmission. The sad bit is that I've been unable to find any pics of this car online and I don't have a camera on me. But for some idea of what it looks like, Google the make of the car and open it up. Imagine it with the customized dual front lights, something like a cross between the old Jags and BMWs. Ali, remember the Stingray? This car sounds almost exactly like that. It runs too. I've seen it in action. I'm gonna go talk to the dude tomorrow about his cars. He's been out of the city or something recently.

Oh and Ali, sad news. The truck is missing. Haven't had a chance to go talk to the guy and find out about it yet but it's definitely missing!

I'm in love with the 2005 Toyota Hilux. And the blue RX-8 parked down the road just makes me jealous!

dude .. i know the car you're talking about and yea with custom headlamps it does become a lot like the stingray .. vrooooom !

WHAT!! the truck cannot be missing !! the truck is our future ride !! the blue truck was ours !!
find it !! this cannot be happening !!

(in the mean while we gotta start thinking of an alternative ride, the 2005 hilux and the rx-8 are way too expensive !)

nahin yaar! it doesn't LOOK like the stingray. it SOUNDS like the stingray. Looks something like the old chevy and ford convertibles except the hood is beautifully sexy.

and the truck is gone! the workshop it was at has been sold and demolished. the truck is history. Now i'm thinking I'll have to bring back my old Camaro plan. as for the truck...we'll find something i'm sure!
