Open-house session set up by the Music Society. Great show. Had fun. In between, The Brother (who I must say has gotten rather good at this pervy shairee business) suggests we do a particular song together. It ended up being rather well-coordinated and left a number of people wondering how many times we'd practiced it. Most people didn't know Taha had it in him. It was expected of me. Incidentally, this was the first time I'd performed at anything related to music. Despite my eclectic tastes and vastly varying choice in music, I'm a devestatingly bad singer!

Song performed by Saad and Taha Farrukh Akhtar: Jumma Chumma

The same night, we'd just beaten defense Club in the 2nd of a best-of-three matches. I'd played for a LUMS match for the first time in almost a year and a half. I realized a big reason I'd steped aside from the team itself was not that I couldn't do it but that I no longer enjoyed it. Don't get me wrong. I still enjoy the game. I'm also good enough to walk onto the LUMS team any time I prefer to do so. It's just that I'd much rather be playing a game of no-stakes, fun, messing-around-with-the-boys basketball than a match of contrived consequence. I guess I've just lost the competitive edge. Also, I just don't like the person I become during those competitive games. It's just not who I am. I don't mind competing, as long as I have fun. Once the fun element was lost, I saw noreason to compete any more.

We won all three matches though. The first was a walk in the park--a disappointing blow-out. The next 2 were too close for comfort! the only reason I played was because I'm enjoying myself more this year than I did last year or the year before. The team is a bunch of boys who love the game and play to enjoy it. they're competitive but give each other enough respect. there's a sense of camaradrie in this team that's been absent from LUMS Basketball for as long as I've been here.

Met Rabia, finally! She's lost yet more weight. Looks entirely emaciated. Has bags under her eyes. Woman, take care of yourself! It was nice though just sitting and talking with her. I don't know if I'll ever find the sort of comfort I had with my friends here. I doubt it. Just sitting in a room with her, I felt like there were no pretenses, no expectations, no demands. It was all just a relaxed, relaxing couple of hours. Thank you, babe. =)

Shah's finally come out of hibernation as well. Or so it seems. He called Ali up last night at around 3.00 and off we went riding to Main Market in the middle of the night to meet up with the bugger and his brother. Yaari's attending BNU for now till his visa shit is sorted out. He promises hot women! Shah promises to stay in touch!

Annular Solar Eclipse today at around noon.

I'm broke.

I'm empty.

LaterzZz...
